As climate change gradually heats up the surface of our oceans, it seems to have influenced the structure of the winds in the world, which reinforces the waves of the ocean
Above all, it seems to affect the extreme conditions more: the winds and extreme waves (90th percentile) show a significant increase over the last 30 years, from the order of 5-8%. In the next decade this will probably have more relevance than the increase in sea level.
Interesting facts we learnt from our partners at ICM-CSIC (Institut de Ciències del Mar)
